What a crazy year! All my photos from Jasper Ridge come from the last two months of their fiscal year, late June to late August 2021. I spent the rest of the time in other preserves and parks -- and captured some nice photos there as well. The last gallery here is the most poignant, and is characteristic of this weird year: in September 2020, beneath red smoke-filled skies, I drove to two entrances of the Preserve and looked longingly through the chain-link fence.

Jasper Ridge has requested three (only 3?) photos from each of five categories: landscapes, wildlife, plants, and people at Jasper Ridge, and photos from other preserves and parks where we went during the Covid exclusion from JR. As you might guess, I do have a few more than three in some categories -- especially landscapes. If you are up for this, you could help me select the "best" three in each category -- just leave a comment on a photo with your suggestions. Thanks! Otherwise, I will just go with the first three in each gallery,

The first photo in "landscapes" is a close-up landscape of a rocky serpentine seep. I am not sure this fits in that category, but that is the closest category for this photo I like. I offer it for the annual report, if JR wants to use it.

UPDATED 10/25/2021: Thanks, everyone, for your suggestions! They helped a lot. After your feedback, I have changed my mind on some photos. The ones I actually submitted have been moved to the top three in each gallery. (I like a lot of the others, too.)
