Oak Topiary

Oak Topiary

Deer browse the little bush of young Coast Live Oak (Quercus agrifolia var. agrifolia), keeping it a low spreading bush. The bush expands. A shoot escapes in the center, too far from the edges for deer to care about pruning it back. The oak grows upwards, pruned by the deer. Birding Transect Trail, 9:12 am.
