In July 2012, Elliott Wright of the Nature Conservancy invited photographer Judy Kramer and me to the Sierra Valley, north of Lake Tahoe just east of the northern Sierra. A consortium called the Northern Sierra Partnership <http://northernsierrapartnership.org/>, including the Nature Conservancy, is working to preserve the unique features of the Sierra Valley and the Sierras north of Truckee. These images were taken during this trip. The last three are from the area around Independence Lake, on Hwy 89 north of Truckee; the rest are from the Sierra Valley farther to the north, along Hwy 89 and 49.
