Created 2-Aug-22
Iconic photographer Joel Simon resumed his Stanford Continuing Education Photography Workshop this year, organized around a two-day field session at Jasper Ridge. I was one of the docents, guiding the 20 or so students to find compositions worthy of effort. Two days, morning and afternoon.

These photo galleries are my photos -- taken before and during the workshops. (All except one Joel Simon photo of me!)

Selected Images are my idea of my best four images from the weekend. Do you agree? Leave a comment.

Searsville Lake... documents the two days -- Jasper Ridge in July 2022.

Monochrome was inspired by a workshop participant. Black and white is sometimes better for some subjects -- twisted oaks draped with Lace Lichen, for example.

Bald Eagles and Other Birds. Birds and their behavior. Bald Eagles are rare for me at Jasper Ridge. I hadn't noticed the Pied-billed Grebe before.

Photographers at Jasper Ridge: Workshop participants: in the landscape, making images, and at rest.

Enjoy!
