Exposed serpentine rock sits above the top of the serpentine seep. Leather Oaks (Quercus durata durata) crowd the serpentine soil beyond. A green Coast Live Oak (Q. agrifolia var. agrifolia) leans in from the left, growing on more fertile soil. Below, my shadow anchors the photo.
