Red-winged Blackbirds (Agelaius phoeniceus) (?)
Gathered in a young Coast Live Oak, seen as we were driving from the Visitor's Parking Lot. Dudley Carlson writes: "I think your flock of birds at the end are probably young and/or female Red-winged Blackbirds. Hard to be sure, but the bill, shape and coloring seem right." And an orange section on the upper wing seems to be forming -- perhaps this will turn red later? Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve, 7/5/2021, 12:12:13 pm.
