The magic of the morning lingers. The lone Blue Oak above Deer Path Trail waits in shadow, as the frontier of sunlight creeps closer. Then sunlight bathes the lone tree. It is losing last year's leaves, getting ready for photosynthesis as moisture returns along with the year-round warmth and sunlight, hoping for another year of communion with sunlight -- and carbon in the air.
