Lowland shooting star bloom earlier than the woodland shooting star or mosquitobill (P. hendersonii). The lowland species have a yellow anther; the woodland, a red stem. I looked along Trail 3 for the woodland species, and saw no blooms this morning. Birding Transect Trail, 10:05 am.
