The rain held off until the tour was over and the students were in the bus. Driving out, I stopped on Road G just opposite the Sun Research Center to observe a great egret, hunting in the grasslands, where I had seen one the previous day. Today I was closer. The car made a good blind -- and kept me relatively dry, once the rain began in earnest, beating steadily on us all.
