Sue welcomed us for four days on her property west of Sydney: Merribindinyah. Lots of land; sheep; cattle; even two horses brought near the house for us. Two resident families, living there to care for it all. Many birds too. Lots of activities for us, yet time for relaxing as well.

Oh, the name? Here is a story I heard. An early settler's dog had run away. Some long-term residents helped him look for it, running ahead. Suddenly, they came rushing back: "Merribindinyah, Merribindinyah!" Merribindinyah: "Your dog is dead." It makes a good story, anyway. This was NOT in the history book that Sue had, of the early settlers on the property.
