Buddhist Scriptures writ Large. 730 large marble tablets, each in its own structure, containing the Tipitaka Pali Canon of Theravada Buddhism, in Burmese script. Constructed by King Mindon in 1860-68, after the British had invaded lower Burma, in order to preserve Buddhist teachings. Kuthodaw Pagoda, Mandalay.
