Clark Point in Mist

Clark Point in Mist

As we arrived at Clark Point, the driving snowfall abates and the view opens up. From the left, here is the John Muir Trail, which we will take back to the Valley; an orientation sign; a glimpse of blue sky over the Valley; the opposite cliffs, taking up most of one's view, 90 degrees or more, with Half Dome just visible in the mist, another granite monolith, and Liberty Cap; and Nevada Falls, clearly visible to the right of Liberty Cap. The trail sign shows the distances we have come: Vernal Fall 0.6 miles (but a steep climb in snow and slippry trail, a real slog); Yosemite Valley 1.9 miles via Mist Trail. Foot traffic only. 12:12 am. Composite image.
