This image shows three worlds: the water surface, beneath the water, and a reflection of the reeds on the bank. The floating leaves belong to Yellow Water Primrose (Ludwigia peploides ssp. peploides). Some white seeds and fluff have caught on the plants; these may be from nearby cottonwoods or a member of the daisy family. Pollywogs (frog larvae) can be glimpsed in the water on the lower right and bottom. Searsville Lake from the dam, Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve, April 28, 2008 at 5:16 pm.
