Birds, butterflies, ants; flowers, mushroom, ferns; wild landscape: natural scenes in and around the communities in La Reina, and seen from the road in and out of this isolated valley.
Since people's lives are so closely intertwined with nature hereabouts, the boundary is blurred between the photos in this collection and the neighboring one, "civilization". Just go with it. Some of these images contain a road as well as a natural scene.
The photos in this gallery are roughly in chronological order. The first dozen are snapshots from the drive in; the last from the drive out. Most of the others are from the hikes we took to visit the microgrid projects.
