A traditional nativity play in the Mission District of SF, with a few twists: An immigrant couple seeks shelter. The woman is very pregnant. Of course there are angels, two -- and they call in reinforcements. There are also two devils, trying to obstruct. One warns Homeland Security, using his iPad. After three or more requests, the couple is finally granted refuge. The baby is born: Halleluja! The wise men finally find the crib -- Google Glass is not much help, the devils give the wrong directions, but there are angels to help. Everyone swings at the pinata.

Produced by the Community Music Center each year with a new script brought up to date, La Posarela is a community effort. There is a large orchestra; many actors and singers; and choruses of various ages. I thought the little-angel chorus was sweet.
