Soap Plant (Chlorogalum pomeridanium var. pomeridianum), Blooming at Home
The folks clearing the trail with their weed-whackers cut this off, on Black Oak Trail in Portola Valley. I brought it home and put it in water. It continued to blossom for several nights -- possibly open a bit longer in the mornings than it would have been in the wild. Each flower opens for one night only, moving toward the tip. 6/15/2021, 7:53 am.
