Valley Oak with Oak Vista

Valley Oak with Oak Vista

A valley oak (Quercus lobata), with some mistletoe, stands at the edge of the serpentine. A toyon (Heteromeles arbutifolia) nestles beneath it. In the distance, blue oaks (Q. douglasii) on the left merge with coast live oaks (Q. agrifolia) on the right. One can just see the subtle change in color. From the birding transect trail near Escobar Gate.
