Helen Quinn Colors In the First CPEP Poster (V)

In 1987, in our home, Helen colored in the first version of the CPEP* poster on Fundamental Particles and Interactions. Jameson helped. A version of this poster now hangs in many high-school and college physics classrooms, next to the familiar chart of the elements for chemistry. It has also appeared in several movies and the TV series The Big Bang Theory. *CPEP = Contemporary Physics Education Project. It was founded in 1987 by Helen, Michael Barnett, and others to produce and disseminate this and other educational material. Helen was the president of this small nonprofit for several years. In 2017, CPEP was awarded the "Excellence in Physics Education Award" by the American Physical Society, "For leadership in providing educational materials on contemporary physics topics to students for over 25 years".
