Bird Magnet

Bird Magnet

This ancient Valley Oak (Quercus lobata), dead, with dead mistletoe, is still an oasis for many types of birds. A swallow swoops by, just to the right of the lower trunk; swallows often rest in the branches here. I call this the "Phainopepla Tree", after a bird I saw here in past years, when the mistletoe was still verdant. It sits on a rise next to Road F. And what is that white bird on top of the branch in the center?
