Blue Heron hunting behavior. After I saw the third behavior/sequence, the awkward hop-flight/lunge about 10 feet away, I was convinced the bird had been injured and could not fly. I called Peninsula Humane Society's Animal Rescue. Then, later, I saw that the bird had moved way across the Frog Pond and was hunting, in no apparant distress. I cancelled the rescue. 3/6/06.
