Indian Paintbrush dominated the ridge behind the Memorial, near the "Helicopter Pad", in both years. In 2009 there were many spikes of Yucca blooming; none were left to bloom in 2010. (They normally bloom once every ... years, but they all seem to have taken advantage of the good growing conditions to bloom right after the fire.) I tried to select images from the same perspective for the two years, but this was difficult; each year, I looked at what drew my eye that year.
