Black Phoebe (Sayornis nigricans)

Black Phoebe (Sayornis nigricans)

Below the trail from the dam to the Docent Center, bordering Searsville Lake, March 18, 2010 at 10:11 am. Mary Ann Allan: "This one is tougher to ID. The shape of the bird and its location lower in the willows makes me think it is not an Olive-sided Flycatcher but rather a Black Phoebe, again possibly a young bird. Those lighter edgings to the wings seem a bit wide for Black Phoebe, and I'm assuming the light bill is glare." Leonie Batkin confirms.
