Not Carpenter Ant (Camponotus sp). Thorax back is not smooth, from head to gaster. Large eyes. Looks like a Formica moki. Tell me if you know the species! I saw this ant on the same plant as the next two images on the opposite page, 4 minutes later. I followed both for 4-5 minutes each. I am not sure if they were the same or different ants. This is clearly a Formica. The one on the opposite page is a Camponotus (Merav, others...)
