The Quinns just uncovered some historic slides: A dedication ceremony for Portola Valley Ranch in 1979; building Toyon Trail by hand, 1979-80 [It took 44 work days, spread over 3 years, to complete the trail]; and a dedication ceremony at the top of Coal Mine Ridge Nature Preserve of Portola Valley Ranch in October 1979 or a little earlier. Included is a historic photograph by Ann Duwe, from the book "Life on the San Andreas Fault: A History of Portola Valley" by Nancy Lund and Pamela Gullard.
