Horizontal sunlight plays tag with billowing ground fog: fogbow! Less colorful than rainbow or waterfall’s mistbow, a fogbow reflects chaos. Many-shaped water droplets scatter all colors together, making a white arc with perhaps a touch of color at the ends.

The fog comes and goes, dancing around the lone Blue Oak.

I climb past the oak, and the fogbow moves with me. Looking back: lone oak silhouetted against fog, God’s Eyes emanating from half-concealed Sun. Fog-kissed tarweeds greet fresh morning light.

Bonus: our almost-resident Great Blue Heron stalks the Frog Pond in early morning, once again. Finches relax between breakfast forays.
