The Red-tailed Hawk notices me before I notice her. She (?) stares. Moves her head side to side, up and down. What *is* that? A photographer, just standing there. Holding a camera pointed this way. And what is that reflection I see in the lens? Another hawk???
After a long minute, she gives up and flies off to continue her hunt. She has spent enough time scanning the grassland and oak woodland from this high perch – and besides, that photographer will probably flush any game before she can get to it.
