Bright Golden Yarrow draws crowds of butterflies – groups of Variable Checkerspots, and another. (Please leave a comment if you know the ID!) On the Golden Yarrow and other blossoms, butterflies, bees, bee-flies, and other insects pollinate. Large and tiny insects lurk in the grass. While some flowers are just being pollinated, others are well on their way to seeds. May is a transition month, between buds and seeds.
