It feels of late autumn; rainy season is yet to take over. Acorns pile up in this mast year. Tangles of Snowberries await birds. The Frog Pond starts to fill, and the Chorus Frogs can be heard, but neither the pond nor the chorus is full-throated. Windy Hill is not yet showing green. Valley Oaks in Mader Valley hang on to last year’s leaves, soon to lose them to driving rain.
