The brown of the drying leaves on the oak echoes the orange of the ripening toyon berries. On the ridge beyond, Blue Oaks (Q. douglasii) merge into Coast Live Oaks (Q. agrifolia var. agrifolia) -- hard to tell the difference at this distance, in this season. Birding Transect Trail, 9:09 am.
