Helen and I noticed this construction worker driving blithely through the heart of the Frog Pond, spilling his load at every bump. It turns out the school construction team had dumped some mulch near the school parking lot -- and it was needed at the other end of the property. It was easier to just drive roughshod through the heart of the Frog Pond than to think of any other alternatives. (I can think of a few. Foresight??) I stopped the worker -- for now. If we had not noticed, there might be a well-used dirt road there now.

I am sure the school authorities know about the Frog Pond Preserve. But nobody has made sure that each and every contractor and subcontractor are aware. There are no signs there to let the workers know. No fences. Some workers treat the Frog Pond Preserve as an extension of the construction site, and feel free to drive across it, dump waste, etc. (I admit, it does look dry and perhaps somewhat neglected now. If I were a worker new to the job, I might assume more buildings might go up there some day. No big deal to expand into that waste land.)

How can we get *everybody* to know and respect the Frog Pond Preserve during this last mad rush of construction?
ps It would also be nice if the school could respect the Frog Pond by planting native plants appropriate to the site. The non-native planting is not doing well.
