A California Scrub Jay hides an acorn. A juvenile Red-tailed Hawk soars. Golden flowers, goldfields and poppies, border the road winding through the serpentine grassland on the Ridge. In the grassland, many places, Lowland Shooting Star seduces my camera. In the woodland, Fremont’s Star Lily holds forth. April on the Ridge.
