Between rolling hillsides and overflowing Fisher Creek, still soggy after repeated rains, the landscape offers a variety of delights. The wide flat fields seemed an ideal place for development – before people checked the water table and the seasonal water flows; the ecological importance of this area also played a role in its preservation. In years to come, residents of San Jose and well beyond will come here to celebrate this natural jewel, so near to the intense development of Silicon Valley.
