Out for our morning walk in the driving rain, Helen spots a coyote hunting in the Frog Pond. By the time I can extract my camera from the rain gear, he has run up to the street ahead. He crosses at the crosswalk near Corte Madera School. Our dog really wants to go over and check him out.

The coyote pauses, noticing us. Stands in the street, looking around, cogitating -- where is the best hunting now? Are those people and dog OK?

He decides it is safe to return to the soggy Frog Pond. As the pond fills up with water, perhaps some creatures will be displaced?

After running through the gathering pond, he slows down in the shallows. Stands a while at the edge of the grasses, near a raven. Then continues hunting.

Yet another coyote adventure -- there seem to be many these days. I am glad we can share some part of our world with each other.

Please forgive me for imagining the coyote's inner life. Do you have a better version?

Enjoy all the weather!
