A pair of Red-tailed Hawks, flying in unison with legs extended, prepare to mate. Fat California Quail browse the grassland. Other birds put on a show: a Red-Tailed Hawk surveying from high in a tree; an Acorn Woodpecker flitting around an oak; a White-breasted Nuthatch hopping up and down the bark. Deer move through the grassland.
