A Great Blue Heron hunts gophers at Dorothy Ford Park. My camera and I hunt photos. We spend some time together, each focused on our assumed task. I am especially interested to see the stalking movement of the heron: one leg moves slowly to the next position, the body slowly keeps pace, and the neck adjusts to keep the head and beak motionless. If you can, toggle back and forth between photos to see this motion.

The heron does catch and devour a gopher, then keeps hunting. We each depart as the morning peace is broken by a dog's ball-chasing romp. This park is used by a variety of visitors.
