Searsville Lake and San Francisquito Creek on Saturday, 10/23/2021, just before the atmospheric river hit Jasper Ridge. There has been a little rain this season: Searsville Lake is not as dry as it was a few days ago. But it will not be this dry for a long while in the future. San Francisquito Creek is barely flowing here. The Golden-backed Ferns have picked right up, miraculously, after a little rain. Banana Slugs appear -- where have they been?

A family group of six, including three docents. Charlie Quinn was first among us: I was "Charlie's Uncle" when I started the docent class. He has a cool vintage T-shirt!
