White-breasted Nuthatch (Sitta carolinensis) Joins Red-naped Sapsucker (Sphyrapicus nuchallis -- or is this a hybrid?)

ANSWER: after consulting experts, we have determined that this Sapsucker is a hybrid of two species. The nuthatch joins the sapsucker on the "Phainopepla Tree", a dead Valley Oak on a ridge along Road F in Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve. 9/28/2021, 8:30:01 am.
