The Open Space Meadowlands next door have their own charm. Walking along Portola Road, I peeked into and across the meadow, as the rain, mist, sunlight, and more rain played across the meadow and hillsides beyond.

Designated as Open Space Meadowlands on the General Plan of the Town of Portola Valley, this broad meadow occupies the flats along the San Andreas Fault at the heart of Portola Valley -- right along our main artery, Portola Road. The Western Hillsides rise beyond. Windy Hill Open Space Preserve borders the Meadowlands, extending up the hills to the summit at Windy Hill, connecting the heart of Portola Valley with the heights and offering wider views of the Bay and Ocean.
