Pulsing Mass of Honeybees

Pulsing Mass of Honeybees

The whole mass is made of bees. It expands and contracts, pulsing with suppressed energy. Occasional bees fly out and back; others seek to nestle closer to the warm center of the mass. At the center, the queen is protected and warmed by her workers. This is a good day to found a new hive; it will be calm and warm. The full moon was two days ago; it is still light at night. Poison Oak below, lichen-covered branches above, keep watch on the sheltering bees. Black Oak Trail, Portola Valley. 3/31/2021, 7:51:41 am.
