Once seen, the moons of Jupiter lose their surprise. The stately dance of Jupiter and Saturn continues, culminating at the Great Conjunction on Winter Solstice Eve. Drawn outside to see the heavenly dance unfold, looking up at sunset, I find other, closer interests. Any excuse to go outside and look up, is welcome.

Seen: Valley Oak; mystery bird; airplanes; artificial satellite; Moon, and two distant planets with their moons. Even a chimera.

Here are five (!) moons around Jupiter, though there are only four large moons there, discovered by Galileo. What is #5? Could there be a star, just in line?? And I think I might see the large moon of Saturn, Titan.
