Poison Oak (Toxicodendron diversilobum) grows beneath a Coast Live Oak (Quercus agrifolia) along upper Old Spanish Trail, near the Grandmother Oak. I believe Poison Oak was named after the Valley Oak, whose leaves are a similar shape -- though not growing in sets of three.) 8/14/2020, 8:43 am. iPhone photo.
