A little adventure outside our window this morning: Two or three of these birds were flying about, one walking down the post supporting the structure over the deck. This one found and dropped a small item -- was it just a little piece of our redwood deck railing? Plant material? It is hard to see. They dropped the first one they found, then dug deep and came up with another. A tiny hop of joy, then they flew off. Great entertainment while we were on a phone call to our son and his family in Cambridge MA -- where it just snowed!
