Mid Toyon Trail starts at the trail junction to the Coalmine Trail connector trail, just above the bridge. Lower and Mid Toyon Trails are in Portola Valley Ranch, and were surveyed by Herb Dengler and built by a crew of volunteers from Portola Valley (including Portola Valley Ranch), led by Jane Ames, in the late 1970s.
