Spring is really here! Leaves are bursting forth and some flowers are blossoming. (Other flowers will follow as the season rolls by.) But where is the rain?

Two days after the first rain in a month, and a day before Jasper Ridge discouraged such walks, Helen and I walked around Searsville Lake. Helen was covering the path prescribed for the final exam of Bio 105, the Jasper Ridge Docent Class. I was taking photos.

For those of you in the class who have not walked this route recently, I include many photos. I have not identified the plants or birds, you are on your own here. I do label the trail or road I was on when I took the photo.

For everybody else, do enjoy these photos. They include a few nice photos of a bird banding.

Everyone, please do leave a comment on any photo if you know the ID! This will help us all. You might want to wait until after Thursday 3/12. Or post now if you want to help a poor future docent.
