Hanna Payne, Becca Nelson, and Jerry Hearn organized another work day to pull invasive French Broom at Jasper Ridge. Stanford students, JR docents, and others -- including Staff Scientist Nona Chiariello -- gathered on a sunny Sunday morning. We attacked the broom at two sites. Off of Road C just past the lower bridge over San Francisquito Creek, we pulled all that we could see. Success, at least for a while -- but we had been here before, the broom came back. At the other site, on Trail 18, we could not pull all the broom in the time we allowed, but we did make a big dent.

Before, after, even during the work day, I was able to capture some photos of birds, buckeye, deer, and oaks. Such lovely weather, lovely place. (But where is the rain??)
