Danna's report: "What we did at frog pond this weekend is miraculous and I so appreciate the Boy Scouts who came to drag the massive piles of coyote brush and dead oak which we cut. For those who may be concerned about the Corte Madera fence line, there is a pruning term called coppice. We cut the coyote brush to the base to remove the fuel load. New basal branches will grow once the rain comes and there will be about 3’ of fresh growth next year, less fuel and restoration of some screening. We took out invasive pyracantha, rockrose. The lovely oak at the corner of the two fences was literally not visible yesterday. So it all looks very different, but once it rains and plants reestablish it will be great.

"Try to go walk it. From the park to the end of the frog pond and see what we did. Passerbyes jumped into help so it was super fun."

Cleanup of Frog Pond Park in Portola Valley, along Alpine Trail near Corte Madera School and the Frog Pond. Boy Scout Troop 64 from Portola Valley contributed a lot of energy. Scouts: Jimmy Inenaga, James Gillebrand, and Thomas Holland. Dads: Andrew Inenaga, Rich Zamboldi, and Edward Holland. Others: Danna Breen, Judy Murphy, Helen Quinn, Dan Quinn, and many others I missed.

Helen, Grizzly, and I walked the trail in the morning, then around the hill on Deerpath Trail. Then, after breakfast, the two of us returned to help complete the cleanup. So there are a few "before" and some "after" pictures here.
