A Great Blue Heron catches breakfast. A covey of quails venture out of the brush and into the trail to find theirs. A rabbit can't stay still any more, and skedaddles. Birds and more from a morning walk, the last day of September 2019.

The last five photos are a bonus -- from another walk that afternoon. The Red-shouldered Hawk was flying over the PVR vineyard; the other photos are from the Windy Hill Open Space.
