...and back to Guatemala City. We had a lovely time relaxing with relatives in a home on the shore of Lake Atitlan -- at least I did, until I broke my kneecap.

In San Juan Laguna, I tripped as a young boy shoved past me on the street. My kneecap was broken, but not all the way through. The family supported me; I was not alone. A cuarandera (Mayan healer) helped shove the kneecap back in place. (I learned that the pain increases if you tell people when it hurts. My usual way is to try to disconnect from what the dentist is doing.)

At the end of our visit to Guatemala, we returned to Guatemala City for a few more days with family, and a final goodbye dinner.

This gallery is probably mostly of interest to family. It does have a few views of Lake Atitlan and the activities on the lake, including local fishermen and tourists.
