A more extensive collection. Perhaps some of these will be useful in brochures or on a web site.

Springtime flowers abound as I go up Old Spanish Trail and down Toyon. I saw many other hikers. Only one dog, the owner was quite nice and took the dog back across Alpine where it was welcome. She hadn't seen the sign.

I also saw a lovely tick waiting on a spray of Shooting Star flowers. After taking several photos, I looked around and photographed nearby flowers, brushing lightly against the spray. When I returned for one last photo, the tick could not be seen. I wonder where it went? (I did take a shower after returning home. Never saw the tick again.)

The first photo is actually from Alpine Trail, quite close to the entrances to the Preserve. As you can probably tell, the last 7 are from the settled part of Portola Valley Ranch. The bird photos are from a lookout/showoff perch overlooking the Frog Pond near our house. These birds also fly into the Preserve, so we could actually include them in a brocure.

Enjoy these flowers, and more!
