Rain dripping from the sky. A sloppy, soggy muddy road, standing water looking for a place to flow. Hard light. Dramatic rainclouds and mist. Fresh blossoms, evidence of spring undeniable, covered in raindrops, each drop lensing the world beyond. A spider, sheltering beneath a pink petal, waiting for an approaching insect or at least a break in the weather. New leaves, red, not even ready for photosynthesis. And of course it is a good day for mushrooms and other fungi.

The birds go about their business -- they don't take the day off.

Spring comes to the Ridge near Escobar Gate, to the forest, grasslands, and chaparral.

Find yourself a sturdy shelter, an impermeable roof, warm surroundings, and a warm drink. Enjoy.
